Schools share classroom work for #CLPEinourhands

On 28th September 2023, schools shared their work, online using #CLPEinourhands centring around pledges for supporting the wider community. This online celebration day followed on from the release of FREE teaching notes written for In Our Hands by Lucy Farfort as a back-to-school teaching unit for schools. In Our Hands explores how we might work together to start something incredible in our own community and help us to think about what we have the power to do 'in our hands' - in working together we can achieve more. Among the many schools who participated and shared amazing work were Bradley Green, Chevening CE Primary, Eldon Primary and Binfield School , with friendship bracelets, creating their own trees, personal pledge artwork, as well as visiting and helping out at a food bank!

Alongside the online celebration there is a chance to meet Lucy Farfort, the author-Illustrator behind In Our Hands at two events in London on 7 October at Tate Britain (2.00-3.30pm) and at Tate Modern (4.30-5.30pm).

At both of these events, you'll be able to meet Lucy in person, listen to her live reading of In Our Hands and take part in creative activities with her. In addition, everyone that comes along will get to add their own pledge for change in their community to their kindness trees on-site. The event at the Tate Britain will be BSL interpreted.

For anyone who missed signing up for the teaching unit, the FREE teaching notes for In Our Hands are now available on the website.  See below.
