Please, Mr Magic Fish!
Fisherman Jack is astounded when a fish he catches promises to grant his dearest wish if he frees him from the net. Jack relates the incident to his wife, Liz, and they return to the sea ask the fish for a better home than the one in which they live. However, they are quickly dissatisfied and their requests become increasingly demanding leading to sorry consequences – but are they? A strongly patterned traditional tale which raises questions around wealth, work and social class, and which has a range of variants, including one retold by the Brothers Grimm.
