CLPE - In Our Hands Free Back to School Unit for September 2023
CLPE's teaching team have created a FREE, 2 week long, whole school unit of work for Early Years through to Year 6. We produced this unit of work to help teachers as you support the children in your school community to come back together after the summer break.
The notes used the book In Our Hands by Lucy Farfort (Tate Publishing) to inspire children and teachers to understand what 'In Our Hands' means. The unit explores how we might work together to start something incredible in our own community and help us to think about what we have the power to do 'in our hands' - in working together we can achieve more. #CLPEInOurHands.
The online celebration took place on Thursday 28th September, where schools shared their wonderful work and ideas on social media using #CLPEInOurHands

Lucy Farfort, the author-Illustrator behind In Our Hands also attended two events in London on 7 October at Tate Britain (2.00-3.30pm) and at Tate Modern (4.30-5.30pm), where she read from the book and encouraged creative activties with the children who attended. In addition everyone added their own pledge for change in their community to their kindness trees on-site .
